Merlin Entertainments actively supports personal career development for
each and every member of the team. Whether you're new to the business
in a front-line role or a senior manager working “behind the scenes”,
you will always have further opportunities to learn, grow and develop.
“Development”
is not just about attending a course. Other avenues might include a
“front-line focus”, job swap, secondment, coaching or even watching a
video or reading a book.
Because professional accreditation is
an important aspect of development, we work closely with a number of
recognised professional bodies. Merlin Entertainments has strong links
with organisations such as the Institute of Leadership and Management
and the Learning and Skills Council, with which we work in partnership
to provide innovative and stimulating training.
After your
initial induction and customer service training, we offer a range of
specific vocational courses, NVQs in a wide range of subjects,
apprenticeships, and two management development programmes. Our
repertoire is growing all the time!
We are committed to
providing appraisals for each of our colleagues. Your appraisal is an
ideal opportunity to discuss your development needs with your line
manager, which will then be recorded in your Personal Development Plan.
Should we be unable to meet your specific development needs
in-house, our Learning and Development team who will be pleased to
discuss your situation, and look into any external training
possibilities.
